Less than an hour left of work today. Truthfully, I checked out a long time ago.
I've been reading blogs and sending emails and doing other unproductive things.
Like eating my 2nd piece of King Cake that someone brought in today to kick off Mardi Gras.
It's good!
Does anyone out there celebrate Mardi Gras in its entirety? I just learned about Little Christmas and the beginning of Mardi Gras and King Cake today.
Well, I did know that Epiphany was Jan 6th and the 12th Day of Christmas. I'd just never heard it called Little Christmas.
I'll be celebrating (non-intentionally) tonight by going out to dinner with another couple. We may or may not slip off to the adjoining hotel after wining and dining.
Either way, it will be a fun evening out with good food and good company.
We've had dinner with them before, so I'm not nervous - just excited to relax and enjoy some good conversation and flirting.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Mardi Gras isn't really something celebrated around here, but I'd love to be in NOLA some year for the party!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your date night!
I hope you have a fun evening. :-)
ReplyDeleteEpiphany is a big celebration here where I live, never heard it refereed to as Little Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMany Years ago I dated a Russian girl and they celebrated Orthodox Christmas which was right around this time.
That looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteWe used to celebrate Twelfth Night when I was growing up; I don't know if my parents still do or not. The cake Mom made was also a bundt cake, not so colourful as that but soaked in brandy and so was the icing.

I think that's an experience everyone should do once, right? Maybe one day...
ReplyDeleteMmm... sounds delish!
ReplyDeleteHoped the diner and afterwards worked out great for you all!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Good times indeed. ;)
