FFF: Burned Coffee

(Image source: "Sunny Sunday Morning" by T.C. Reiner)
60-160 words
"...burned coffee..."
What a beautiful morning! she thought as she sighed and leaned back against the stove. Her smile illuminated the entire kitchen.

Instantly, her mind swept back to the moments of the previous night.
The gentle caresses of her lover.
The ripples of orgasm as her body climaxed over and over.

She was in love.

He was, too.

He stood watching her from the doorway, laughing a little at her being lost in her absent-minded reverie.

She hadn’t even noticed the smell of burned coffee.

Laughing again, he walked up, taking the coffee mug from her hands, and pulled her into his arms.

Brushing the hair from her face, he whispered, I love you.

What a beautiful morning, indeed! she thought as she pulled him close – nuzzling into his strong embrace.

As always, head to Insatiabear's blog to read his take on the picture and see who else is playing this week. Even better, why not write your own version and link up.

  1. My FFF stories usually have some kind of bleakness or a last-minute twist to them.  I just couldn't manage it this time.  Nothing about this picture suggests anything but happiness and, like you, that's how I told my story.  Very well done.  Might we expect more FFF offerings from you in the future?

  2. You might. :) It's definitely a meme I'd like to do more often. Exercise that creative mind, y'know.

  3. Good to hear!  Judging by your first attempt, you would do very well with it.  I've been participating since early October and I've enjoyed trying my hand as well as enjoying other players' efforts.

  5. Oh cool!  I don't know how I didn't realize you'd participated before.  I'm guessing that our extensive exploration of your blog occurred before I had any idea what Flash Fiction Friday was. :)
